Madrid Road Race

Six Y Club members participated in the Madrid Rock ‘n Roll 10k road race held on Sunday 22nd April.  Running along the boulevards of Madrid, around the Bernabeu stadium and taking in some of the sights, the Y Club crew finished the race before regrouping and taking in some of the sights and tastes of the Spanish capital and its surroundings.  Tapas, Toledo and Vino Tinto were all sampled before the trip back home to the cooler and damper homeland of Manchester. Senoras Andy Birtwistle, John Williams, Dennis Gilligan, Andrew Iley, Anthony Johnson and Graham Hobbs were accompanied by the senorita Liz Sharpley on this epic adventure.  Andy Birtwistle posted the best race time, but all had a great time and are planning the next foreign foray.
