Gym Member Tackles 60@60!!!

22nd January 2019

Y Club gym member Dave Penkethman has been a member of the Y Club since 1979. Dave’s involvement in the club runs deeper than being a just a member. He has been an active member of the wrestling club, coached the junior wrestling, ran at competitive events for the Manchester YMCA Harriers as well as introducing both his sons Tom and Nathan to the Club! He is one of the Manchester YMCA Sporting Heroes.

To celebrate his 60th Birthday Dave has had the crazy idea to run up and down Jutland Street in Manchester City Centre 60 times!!!! Jutland street is located just behind Piccadilly Station and is one of the steepest streets in the UK with a gradient of 33%. It is often used for hill training and is definitely not for the faint hearted.

The Jutland street run will take place on the 10th March 2019 and will start at 10am. It would be great if you could join Dave for a few laps for some morale support or just support him with a donation to his chosen charities.

Dave is doing the 60@60 to raise money for two charities, the YMCA Youth and Community Project and Cancer Research.

How this will benefit the community:

The YMCA Youth and Community programmes aim to improve the lives of some of the most vulnerable and marginalised young people in Greater Manchester.
