Is it time to change your exercise routine?

It’s 2020 and we lead very scheduled lives. We get up at the same time, eat at a certain time, start work at the same time, go to the gym at a certain time, go to bed at the same time. We are creatures of habit, even when it comes to exercise. We head to the same class every week, perform the same exercises in the gym and run the exact same route every time we lace up our trainers.

We all know regular exercise is hugely important when it comes to keeping ourselves fit and healthy, but there are so many benefits to switching up your routine. Your body – and brain – will reap the rewards!

So, when should you change your routine?

When you stop seeing results

This is a clear sign you may not be training efficiently or to the best of your ability. This is the perfect time to ask for help. Our fitness instructors and personal trainers are always on hand to help you achieve your goals.

When you’re bored

Make a list of all the activities you love to do; swimming, cycling, walking, dancing, boxing, running. Then do them! Push yourself out of your comfort zone.

You get injured

It can be a tough pill to swallow when an injury occurs but it’s the right time to take a step back and think about how you’re going to move forward. Adaptations to your programme will have to be implemented or take a complete rest in order to recover.
