Facilities
The Manchester Y Club offers its members a fantastic array of facilities including a Fully Equipped Cardio and Weights Room, Vibro Plate, 18m Swimming Pool, Sauna, Steam Room, Fives Courts and Indoor Running Track. Add that to our Sports Hall and Class Studio offering over 70 classes a week including Yoga, Zumba®, BodyPump® and Badminton the Y Club is hard to beat.
Gym
The Y club offers a fully equipped gym featuring life fitness and matrix cardiovascular equipment along with a wide range of resistance and free weights.
Cardio and Resistance Area:
The cardiovascular area features a wide range of equipment including bikes, rowers, treadmills, cross trainers, steppers and elliptical trainers. Alongside the cardiovascular machines we have an extensive range of resistance equipment.
Kettle Bells:
The Y Club offers a range of kettle bells from 4kg – 28kg. Kettle bells offer total body conditioning. Whilst working on your cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training they also burn fat and improve tone, strength and endurance.
For a more intense work-out why not try our separate free weights room which has a full range of benches, barbells and dumbbells. Weights start from 1kg up to 50kg dumbbells. We also have weight discs, which range from 2.5kg – 25kg with three Olympic bars.
Vibro Plate:
Vibration plate training has become more and more popular over the last year with many celebrities and sports professionals turning to this to enhance their workouts. When used as part of a healthy lifestyle and exercise routine the vibration plate can help to improve fitness, muscle tone and strength as well as improved balance and flexibility. It also helps weight loss and in the reduction of cellulite. It can also be used in the process of rehabilitation from injury.
Stretch and Abs Area:
This area is used for abdominal work and to improve your core and flexibility. It also means there is a designated area available for your pre and post workout stretches.
Our fitness team are on hand to help and guide you with all your gym training. Offering tailor-made gym programs, ongoing support and encouragement.
Poolside:
Why not take
advantage of the 18m swimming pool available at the Y Club. Swimming is a great form of exercise as well as relaxation. The pool here at the Y Club looks out into the tranquil Castlefield Basin and benefits from all natural light.
During the week, you could take advantage of our swimmers’ workout or aqua aerobics classes. We offer swimming lessons for people of all ages including one-to-one tutorials. We also offer children’s lessons on Saturday mornings along with a junior fun swim on Saturday lunchtimes.

The Y Club offers individual swimming lessonsfor both adults and children. These lessons can help any goals such as:

Reducing fear and swimming unaided

Sauna and Steam Room:
Do you like to relax after a tough workout or a hard day at work? If so why not take advantage of our sauna and steam room which can be found on poolside.
100m Running Track:
Ours is the only Gym in Manchester City Centre where you can run, jog, sprint or race on a superb indoor running track, rather than being limited to treadmills. The 100m running track can be found in the sports hall.
The Y Club is a member of the Fitness Industry Association (FIA) and adheres to their code of practice. The FIA code of practice is designed to ensure that health and fitness operators maintain a basic level of practice to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their customers. Compliance with the Code communicates our commitment to standards, quality and customer welfare.
