Community Games
The YMCA and the County Sports Partnership Network (CSPN) have been successful in a bid that was submitted to The Cabinet Office Social Action Fund in December 2011, to run a community engagement programme in partnership with the Legacy TrustUK. Community Games will take place in 3,000 communities involving 58,000 volunteers and with 2 million people taking part, with the intention of providing a legacy for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
18 YMCA’s including the Manchester YMCA have been chosen to deliver the project in their local areas. Community Games will provide a great opportunity to bring the local community together to take part in sporting and cultural activities inspired by, and in celebration of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games.
